Miniature electret microphones are small, compact microphones designed to capture sound in various environments while maintaining high audio quality despite their size. These types of microphones are typically used in applications where space is limited, or where the microphone needs to be discreet, such as in wearable devices, recording equipment, hearing aids, or even for use in consumer electronics like smartphones.  Their small size allows for easy integration into devices without taking up much space or interfering with other components.

Alan Butcher Components offers a comprehensive range of electret condenser microphones also known as ECMs. Products are available in various sizes with various fixing options such as PCB pins, solder pads or leads. We also offer options with connectors already fitted.

We can supply omni-directional, uni-directional and noise cancelling electret condenser microphones.  We explain how EMCs work on the following page – Electret Condenser Microphones – UK Distributor Alan Butcher Components

Please use the filters at the top of the product page to assist in selecting the right microphone for your requirements.  Data sheets can be downloaded from the product pages and if you need technical assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Typical applications for electret condenser microphones include PDAs, recording devices, computers, telephones, hearing aids and security entry panels. These component microphones are widely used for audio recording, voice recognition and audio sensing products.

It may be possible for us to provide a customised solution for your design requirements. Please give us a call on 01258 456360 to discuss this further.
